Consultations

If you’re concerned about your child’s speech, language or occupational development, unsure if they’re meeting their milestones or want to learn more about ways to help your child communicate more effectively and improve their independence, My Therapy Spot offers parent consultations. These consultations are booked on an as-needed basis for families who want to learn more about speech and language or occupational development and strategies, but don’t need ongoing therapy.

Evaluations

If you have worries about your child’s development or have received a referral from a healthcare or school professional, we can conduct a formal assessment. This assessment is the most effective way to identify your child’s strengths and areas for improvement, and to determine if intervention is required. Through evaluations, families receive clear insights into their child’s situation and actionable steps to support their children.

Treatments

Children displaying signs of speech, language, and/or occupational delays are recommended for intervention, involving ongoing therapy tailored to their needs. Goals are chosen based on the formal evaluation results, focusing on the child’s specific weaknesses. The frequency and duration of therapy sessions are determined by the severity of the situation. Additionally, parents receive coaching on home-based strategies to support their children between sessions.
